What hobbies do you have that would surprise people?

Cooking and remote controlled cars.

Did you pass your driving test first time?

Yes I did!

Who was your favourite racing driver growing up?

Both Prost and Senna.

What is your favourite dinner and pudding?

For dinner, a nice piece of sole, and for dessert definitely chocolate.

Do you like roller coasters?

To a certain extent.

Why are you a racing driver and do you like it?

I’ve always loved cars and when I was a kid I wanted to be a gold prospector. It wasn’t really about finding gold though, it was more about being able to drive the big 4x4’s they use to get to remote locations. Through that love of cars I discovered racing and ultimately Formula 1. I love it.

Which race do you enjoy the most?

The one you win.

When I ride my bike fast my mum always tells me to be careful in case I fall off and hurt myself, does your mum do that too?

Oh yes, she did. And my mother-in-law even asks me to keep both hands on the steering wheel and avoid white lines when it’s raining!

If you could drive any F1 car, old or new, which one would you choose?

 love the cars from the mid-90’s and mid-2000’s.

What is your favourite song?

Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson.

If you could choose any driver past or present to be your team mate, who would it be?

I’d go for Jules Bianchi and Ayrton Senna.

Do you have a name for your car?

Yes I do. I call her Titine.

How does it feel when you first get into your car?

It feels great. It’s a place I love to be. I enjoy the challenge of driving fast.

Do you have a lucky charm?

No.

What did you want to be when you were little?

I wanted to find gold in places like the desert.

What's your favourite colour?

Blue.

Is it nice to be famous?

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t.

How does it feel when you're on the podium?

It’s an amazing feeling. I always think about all the kids watching me up there, knowing I used to be watching other drivers do the same thing and knowing it’s possible.

What do you do at the track when you're not racing?

I’ll relax by watching a few TV series or read a few biographies.
