Daniel Ricciardo Interview

What’s your most favourite song?

Ohhh…I’d say: ‘The End of Heartache’ by Killswitch Engage

Does it get confusing with who the team is talking to with you and Daniil being on the same team?

I usually tell the team to name us by car numbers: 03 and 26 that way it’s easier and less confusing.

Do you think you will get on the podium this year?

Yes!!

What is your shoe size?

A 43 European, so UK 9 and US 10

What is your favourite dinner and pudding?

Favourite dinner: I love pizza!! Favourite pudding: sticky toffee!

Why are you a racing driver and do you like it?

I’m a racing driver because I love speed, I love going fast and the adrenaline. My mum wouldn’t let me go on two wheels, so that’s why I’m in cars. I love it.

When I ride my bike my mum tells me to be careful in case I hurt myself, does your mum do the same before a race?

She used too, but then she realised it wasn’t helping me win the race so now she just tells me to have fun.

Do you have a happy song?

I have many happy songs! One of them would be ‘Free’ by Rudimental

Which four drivers would you choose to go into an F1 boyband with?

Hmmm.. definitely not Kimi, it would be hard for him to sing. I would say Felipe Massa, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hulkenburg.

If you could choose any driver, old or new, to be your team mate, who would it be?

I want to say Senna but he might kick my butt so I’d say James Hunt.

Of all your races, which has been the most important to you?

I think the first win in Canada, that was a special one, it was amazing.

Do you do twitter yourself, or does someone do it for you?

Yep, all myself.

How does it feel when you win?

Like everything is worth it.

Can you choose the design of your helmet and your car?

The car no, but the helmet yes. We have to put the Red Bull logos in a particular place but for the colour choice and everything we are allowed to do what we like.

How does it feel when you first get into the racing car?

It feels like home.

Do you have a name for your car?

Nope

How much space is in your car?

Not enough!

Are you good at Mario Kart?

As a kid I was, but I haven’t played video games in a while so probably not very good anymore. I think the new generation of kids would beat me at Mario Kart
